Helping Hoops
Helping Hoops at Kensington Community and Recreation Centre is a free, multicultural basketball program for children living in local public housing.
The program teaches participants the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, inclusive and social environment. While Helping Hoops has a focus on improving skills, the program uses basketball to instil values that benefit children in their lives outside of sport. Children will learn the fundamentals of teamwork through games, drills and practice. Participants gain social and motor skills, self-esteem and confidence while making new friends.
Helping Hoops caters to children who have beginner, intermediate or advanced basketball skills.
