Environmental Policy


YMCA Victoria is committed to building a thriving, prosperous, safe and sustainable Y. This includes a specific commitment to minimize our environmental impact and advocate for healthier environments.

YMCA Victoria acknowledges the importance of protecting the environment in a sustainable manner to help reduce any detrimental impact its operations and activities might have. YMCA is committed to ensuring this through the development, implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System, based on the international ISO14001 Standard.   • Pools
    • All staff directions and signage must be strictly adhered to
    • Participants are not to attend the pool or classes if they are unwell or have any symptoms of the virus i.e. Fever, headache, and cough.
    • Participants are not to attend the pool or classes if they have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
    • Kickboard and Pool Buoys will not be available for hire or use.
    • Participants must bring their own equipment for swimming (e.g. kickboard, pull buoy, goggles)
    • Participants must bring their own water bottle, drink fountains will only be available to re-fill bottles.
    • Participants must maintain social distancing, follow directional signage and leave as soon as their session is complete, and equipment cleaned and put away if applicable.
    • Parents/Guardians wishing to stay in the facility and supervise their children participating in a pool session must also book and pay for the session. There will be a maximum ratio of 1 adult to 2 children.
    • Children under the age of 10 must be actively supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. 
  • Gym and Group Fitness
    • No Towel, No workout
    • All staff directions and signage must be strictly adhered to
    • Participants are not to attend the gym or classes if they are unwell or have any symptoms of the virus i.e. Fever, headache, and cough.
    • Participants are not to attend the gym or classes if they have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
    • Equipment must be cleaned prior to use and after use.
    • Equipment is not to be shared during class.
    • Participants must bring own mats.
    • Participants must bring their own water bottle, drink fountains will only be available to re-fill bottles.
    • Participants must maintain social distancing, follow directional signage and leave as soon as their session is complete, and equipment cleaned and put away if applicable.
    • Toilets only will be open for use and swimmers must ensure social distancing at all times; change room and shower facilities remain closed.
    • I have reviewed the PAR-Q form and agree that I have no medical condition that would prevent me from participating in exercise safely.

  • Stadium

    • Participants are not to attend the stadium if they are unwell or have any symptoms of the virus i.e. Fever, headache, and cough.
    • Participants are not to attend the stadium if they have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
    • Equipment must be cleaned prior to use and after use.
    • Equipment (inc balls) will not be available for hire.
    • Participants must bring their own water bottle, drink fountains will only be in use to re-fill bottles.
    • Participants must maintain social distancing, follow directional signage and leave as soon as their session is complete, and equipment cleaned and put away if applicable.
    • Non-contact training and activities only for participants 19 years or older. Social distancing (1.5 metres) must be followed at all times.
    • Parents/Guardians wishing to stay in the facility and supervise their children participating in a casual shooting session must also book and pay for the session. There will be a maximum ratio of 1 adult to 2 children per ring. For larger ratios of children please contact your centre
  • Personal Training Sessions

    The safety of our community is vital, so there will be a few changes when you arrive at the facility to keep us all safe and ensure we comply with Government restrictions. These will include:

     

    • Bookings will open 7 days in advance to allow for booking and close 48 hours prior
    • Towels are compulsory, please ensure you bring one all sessions
    • Please bring a full water bottle for your workout – our drinking fountains remain closed currently
    • We ask that anyone attending Personal Training bring their own mat if required – we will not have mats available for use. 
    • Face coverings required in line with Victorian Government restrictions (not mandatory during training)
    • Access to our change rooms/toilets will be available, however we ask that you don’t use the change room unless essential to assist with our COVID safe requirements including patronage numbers and time limits
