Located just a short walk from Kensington Community and Aquatic Recreation Centre, the facility features three synthetic tennis courts with lighting for early morning and evening play.
Whether you are playing with family, catching up with friends or simply looking to get active, you can book a court casually or take out a tennis membership.
Please note: Tennis racquets and balls are not supplied.

The courts are approximately a two minute drive or five minute walk from Kensington Community and Aquatic Recreation Centre.
Fees and memberships
Choose between casual court hire or a Flexi membership.

Flexi membership is an ongoing fortnightly membership that continues until cancelled in accordance with the applicable Terms and Conditions.

Book a court
Bookings are available up to 14 days in advance, with a maximum booking duration of two hours per day.
Casual bookings
To make a casual booking:
- Create an account through the ClubSpark booking portal.
- Select your preferred court, date and time.
- Pay the applicable court hire fee to confirm your booking.
- Once booked, you will receive a unique PIN to access the courts.
Member bookings
After purchasing a tennis membership from Kensington Community and Aquatic Recreation Centre, you will receive a ClubSpark link to activate your membership.
Once activated:
- You can book courts through ClubSpark without making an additional payment for each booking.
- You will be issued a PIN for court access.
- Your PIN will remain the same for future bookings.
- Your PIN will only provide access when you have a valid booking for that date and time.
Accessing the courts
You must have a valid booking before entering the tennis courts.
Your PIN provides access through the keypad at the main gate and will be active from 10 minutes before your booking until 10 minutes after your booking time.
Please enter your PIN even if the gate is already open. This ensures automated services associated with your booking, including court lighting where applicable, operate correctly.
Important booking information
PIN access is activated approximately 30 minutes after a booking is made.
For this reason, please make your booking at least 30 minutes before you intend to access the courts. If you make a booking while waiting at the gate, your PIN may not work immediately.
Cancellations and refunds
If you cancel more than two hours before your booking starts, your booking fee will be refunded to your original payment method.
Cancellations made within two hours of the booking start time are not eligible for a refund.
If poor weather prevents you from using the court, please contact the centre to request a manual refund.
Court lighting
Court lighting operates automatically according to available daylight.
During winter:
- Lights may operate from 6 am and will switch off when there is sufficient natural light.
- Evening lighting generally operates from approximately 5 pm when required.
- Lights switch off at 10 pm.
During daylight saving periods, evening lighting will switch on as natural light reduces. The activation time will vary throughout summer according to sunset times.

Conditions of use
The courts are provided for recreational tennis.
Professional coaching or other commercial activities are not permitted unless the coach or provider has received prior written approval from YMCA.
The courts must not be used for activities other than recreational tennis without prior written approval.
All players must wear appropriate tennis footwear while using the courts.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the venue, including on the tennis courts.
All users of the Kensington Banks Tennis Courts must also comply with the Conditions of Entry.
Player etiquette
Please help us keep the courts enjoyable for everyone:
- Take all rubbish with you and leave the courts and surrounding facilities tidy.
- Be considerate of other players.
- Early morning and evening players should keep noise to a minimum out of consideration for nearby residents.
- Follow all venue signage and conditions of use.
