The following entry conditions are to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all customers and staff.

Please read the following and by entering these premises, you agree to the following terms and conditions of entry:

  • 24/7 Eligible members must have their access fob and have an active membership (not on suspension) to be permitted entry.
  • 24/7 members must be 18 years or older.
  • Permitting access to another person or gaining access to the Centre or using another member’s fob will result in 24/7 access being terminated and fees charged to both patrons.
  • For 24/7 access an online induction must be completed to ensure you are familiar with the location of duress buttons and lanyards, defibrillator, emergency exits and assembly areas, fire extinguishers, and first aid kit.
  • The duress pendant or alarm are only to be used in the event of an emergency. Incorrect or inappropriate will result the member being liable for associated callout charges incurred by the security and/or emergency service providers.
  • Gym users are required to clean equipment before and after use.
  • Access to the Group Fitness hall is strictly out of bounds. If users are seen to be in this area, 24/7 access will be terminated.
  • You must obey all signs displayed on the premises and follow all reasonable requests made or directions given by staff including in the event of an emergency.
  • You must not bring any alcohol, drugs or weapons onto the premises and/or be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • You must not bring any animal other than a guide or service dog onto the premises without permission from management.
  • You must not behave in a way which:
    • Is disrespectful to the staff or other patrons,
    • Interferes with the enjoyment of the premises by other patrons,
    • Endangers or causes injury to other patrons,
    • Obstructs or otherwise prevents the staff from performing their work,
    • Causes damage to the premises or any of the property
  • Management accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any losses arising out of personal property being stolen within the Centre.
  • Members and guests must wear appropriate clothing and footwear to the activity at all times and work out towel must be used.
  • You must not use a camera, video-camera or other audio or visual recording devices without the prior consent of staff.
  • If you or any children accompanying you on the premises willfully or through negligence cause damage to the premise or any property on the premises, you will be responsible for that damage.
  • To the extent permitted by the law, neither management nor the Council accepts liability for any injury to or death of any person at the premises.
  • 24/7 access may be restricted on occassion during exclusive programming or events.

Failure to comply with any of these conditions of entry may result in you being refused entry to, or evicted from the premises and any membership you have suspended or cancelled. To the extent permitted by law, management and the Council reserve the right to refuse entry to any person or evict them for any reason including if a person appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Warning: If you participate in these activities your rights to sue the supplier under the Australian Consumer Law and Fair-Trading Act 2012 if you are killed or injured because the activities were not supplied with due care and skill or were not reasonably fit for their purpose, are excluded, restricted or modified in the way set out in or on this sign.

Please note: The change to your rights, as set out in or on this sign, does not apply if your death or injury is due to gross negligence on the supplier’s part. “Gross negligence”, in relation to an act or omission, means doing the act or omitting to do an act with reckless disregard, with or without consciousness, for the consequences of the act or omission. See regulation 5 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair-Trading Regulations 2012 and section 22(3)(b) of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair-Trading Act 2012.

Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre is owned by Melbourne City Council and proudly managed by the Y.


The final step in the induction process is to complete and submit the form below. By doing so you agree to the terms and conditions and confirm that you have watched and understood the induction video.

Once done, your application for 24/7 gym access at Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre will be processed within three business days. Once processed, you will receive an email inviting you to locally induct, collect your access fob and officially welcome you to 24/7 gym access.
